1st Sgt. George M Keiper U.S.M.C (Ret.) from Clarkton, NC entered his eternal home April 30th, 2026, at the age of 69.

1st Sgt. Keiper was born December 4, 1956, to John P. Keiper and Berit V. Keiper who preceded him in death.

George proudly served his country for 23 years in the USMC, from being a radio operator and air traffic controller, to training future marines. After retirement he worked as a logistics specialist contractor for the Navy. He retired completely in 2005 to spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Helen L. Keiper (Benson), whom he loved dearly. His son George M. Keiper, Jr and wife Heather also of Clarkton. Four brothers, John (Fran), Carl (Linda), Roger, Joe (Callie) and one sister Tammy Preston (Gary). Five granddaughters, Halie Mason, Molly Davis (Marlan), Chase Keiper, Alyssa Chavis and Sadie Keiper, whom his world revolved around. Three great-grandsons Zy’aire, Jaziah and Remington. Two brother in-laws, Robert (Doris) and Billy (Kim) and several nieces and nephews.

George was a God loving family man. He loved to hunt, fish and spoil his grandchildren. During his time in the Marines, he did a lot of traveling and got to see a lot of the world, but nothing compared to the family dinners at Aunt B’s and the coffee coffee shakes at Over Yonder. He was kind, loving and giving and will be missed deeply.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday May 8th at 3 pm at New Light Church in Bladenboro N.C. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to New Light Church.
