Colton Jayford Dowless of Bladenboro was born January 3, 1988, and passed away on April 13, 2026, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton. Colton was 38 years young.

Colton was a devoted father, an avid sports enthusiast, and found great joy in fishing, activities that brought joy to his life.

He is survived by his loving mother, Ellen Bennett Dowless, and father, Danny Jayford Dowless and his wife Brittney. Alongside them, his fiancé, Samantha Walton, shared a deep bond with Colton, supporting him through life’s journey. His profound love for his children, Rylie Dowless and Ryker Jayford Dowless.

Colton’s family circle also includes his siblings Danielle Bordeaux, Luke Dowless, Ella Grey Dowless, and Danny Dowless, as well as his step-brother Brody Edwards, nieces and nephews, Danica Bordeaux, Willa Collier, Hayden Lee, Bellamy Davis, as well as many family and friends each carrying forward his memory in their own way.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 12:00PM in the Sanctuary of Bethel Baptist Church: 735 Old Hwy 41, Tar Heel, NC 28392. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Allen Cemetery.

At all other times the family will also be receiving friends on Friday, April 17, 2026 at the home of his Father Danny: 691 Paul Brisson Road Bladenboro, NC 28320.
