Obituary

Gerald Milton Corcelius, 75, reached his heavenly home on February 21, 2026. Born on October 4, 1950, Gerald was the son of the late Clyde Milton and Ruby Abbott Corcelius.

Gerald shared 54 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gail Cartrette Corcelius. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and simple joys. He leaves behind two sisters Clara Cox and Gloria Nance. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who knew him as a steady presence and a dependable source of encouragement and humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kevin Corcelius; and his sisters, Olive Skipper and Janice Singletary.

A devoted Christian, Gerald faithfully served his church for many years as a deacon and church treasurer. He also taught Sunday school for more than 20 years, patiently guiding generations with kindness, wisdom, and a servant’s heart. His faith was not just something he spoke about — it was something he lived daily.

Outside the church, Gerald loved the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, tending his garden, or riding his tractor, he found peace in God’s creation. At home, he was happiest with family nearby and a classic episode of Gunsmoke playing in the background.

Gerald will be remembered as a loving husband, a faithful servant, and a man whose quiet strength and steady faith touched everyone who knew him. His life was defined by devotion — to God, to his family, and to the values he carried every day.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and lifelong example that will continue through the many lives he helped shape.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in the sanctuary of the Revelation Church: 12553 NC-131 Hwy, Bladenboro, NC 28320, with Pastor Anthony Hardin officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Singletary Cemetery in Butters. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
