Martha Rae Gibson of Bladenboro, NC was born on August 9, 1945 and passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026 at Elizabethtown Nursing Center. Martha was 80 years young..

 Martha was cherished for her dedication to nursing a profession that allowed her to care for others with compassion and skill. Her commitment to her work was only matched by her passion for sewing and crafts, where she expressed her creativity. She also enjoyed traveling.

Martha is survived by her beloved daughter, Deborah Edwards. She is also survived by her brother, Henry Lamb. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Sam Edwards and Leann Edwards and her husband Cory, as well as her great-granddaughters, Maggie Rae Edwards and Hollyn Nicole Hester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry James Lamb and Mary Bell Taylor Lamb. Martha Rae Gibson will be remembered for her nurturing nature, creative talents, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held in the Meadowbrook cemetery in Lumberton.
