Mildred Britt McMillan

Mildred Ruth McMillan, born November 3, 1939 in Lumberton, North Carolina, daughter of Earl Britt and Emma Ruth Israel Britt, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Quincy Wilkes, her second husband, James Franklin McMillan Sr. and her son James Franklin “Frankie” McMillan Jr. She is preceded in death by four siblings: Robert Earl Britt, Tommy Lee Britt, Edna Earl Britt Justice, and Betty Britt Hensley.

Mildred is survived by her daughter Lillie Wilkes Mabe and husband Curtis Mabe, daughter Jackie Wilkes Shirley and husband Curtiss Shirley. She had three grandchildren: Curtis Anthony Mabe Jr., Heather Shirley Lilley and husband Brad, and Catara Nichole McMillan, as well as three great grandchildren Cameron Mabe, Jack Kitchin Lilley, and Bailey Grace Lilley. She is survived by her youngest brother James “Charlie” Britt and his wife Blanch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Mildred was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a faithful member of Green Springs Baptist Church of Parkton, North Carolina.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday June 19, 2025 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM with a funeral service to begin at 2;00PM at Green Springs Baptist Church,: 1095 E. Green Springs Road Parkton, NC 28371 with Pastor Steve Kurk officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Church Cemetery.
