Tammy Leanna Pope

Ms. Tammy Leanna Pitts Pope of Bladenboro, NC was born on September 7, 1963 and passed away after her battle with cancer on December 24, 2025 at her home. Tammy was 63 years young.

Tammy grew up in Wahneta, where she spent her childhood engaged in adventurous play, often seen as a tom girl running through the woods and mud with her cousins. Her warm spirit and loving nature were reflected in her interactions with her nieces, whom she would delight by letting them play in her hair. It was at the tender age of 13 that she met the love of her life, Jimmy Pope, with whom she would go on to share a beautiful and lasting bond.

Her journey led her to North Carolina, where she and Jimmy built a life together, welcoming their daughter, Chrystal Pope, into the world. Tammy was a devoted mother, deeply cherishing her family and grandchildren. She found immense joy in spending time with them, creating memories filled with laughter and love.

Tammy had a passion for the beach and loved to revel in the company of friends while enjoying good music. Her vibrant personality and zest for life left a mark on those around her.

Tammy is survived by her beloved daughters, Chrystal Pope and her husband JD, April Sellers and her husband Shawn; her son, Robert Pope; and her devoted sisters, Darlene Pitts and Joyce Nasworth, grandchildren Ryder, Sierria, Chayton and 6 others, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is reunited in rest with her late husband, Jimmy Pope; her father, Gerald Pitts; her mother, Peggy Pitts; and her brothers, Jerry and Daryl Pitts.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29, 2025 from the hours of 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the Bladenboro Funeral Chapel.
