Vickie Diane Childress, born on May 27, 1955, passed away on May 28, 2026. She will be remembered as a devoted family woman and a dedicated hard worker with a love for music. Among her favorite artists was Jelly Roll  

She is survived by her son, Floyd Carlton Hayes, and her daughter, Vickie Denean Freauf (Tommy). Her extended family includes siblings Brad Childress (Janis), Donald Childress, Penny Richmond (Richie), Ken Childress (Roma), Kyle Flannery (Jennie), Kelvin Flannery, Randy Childress, and Buffy Childress. The family also cherishes her grandchildren Joshua LanierCameron Anderson, Anthony Anderson, Hunter Hayes, Jake Freauf, and Ariel Freauf, alongside her great-grandchildren Dean Anderson, Josiah Freauf, and Laziah Freauf. Numerous nieces and nephews also carry forward her memory.

Vickie was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Clay, her father Roy Childress Jr., her mother Alice J. Richardson, and her brother Mike Childress.

Throughout her life, Vickie Diane Childress’s dedication to her family and her tireless work ethic made a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her enduring love for music added a special dimension to her character, enriching her life and those around her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
