Mr. Willis Michael Durden of St. Pauls was born on January 5, 1964 and passed away on February 17, 2026 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville, after a tough battle with cancer. Michael was 62 years young.

Michael will be remembered for his kind spirit and selflessness; he was a man who would go without to ensure the happiness and well-being of those around him. Known for giving "the shirt off his back," his kindness touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

Michael cherished his moments spent fishing and was particularly fond of days at the beach, where he found joy in nature and the company of others. His passions extended beyond these activities, as he built cherished memories in the company of his many friends and family who valued him dearly.

Michael now joins his beloved family who have passed before him: his mother, Carolyn Dean Durden; his father, Franklin Delano Durden; and his brothers, Ronald and Donald Durden. They welcomed him back with open arms.

He leaves behind his dog, Swamp, along with a host of family and friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. Micheal's legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the home of his sister Beverly's 413 Marion Road St. Pauls, nC 28384 from the hours of 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
